I suggest using tcl8.0a2 and tk8.0a2 instead.  8.1 is still not final.
If you choose to use 8.1, you'll need the blt8.0-unoff-1 package from SFI.

Hmm, I don't remember seeing that on Irix 6.4.  Try exporting SHELL
and CONFIG_SHELL before configure-time as bash.
