Thanks for the report. That is actually just another face of the same
issue. The cvs that had been installed was locally patched. The
"packaged version" was simply a dummy equivs package to hold the name
in the package manager. The upgrade removed it and overwrote the
locally patched files with the new packaged files. So now we need to
recover the previously patched version. Tracing through the steps I
installed the previously installed package before I realized it was
simply a dummy. Argh. I reinstalled the packaged version. I have
put things back to the inbetween state where auth cvs works but anon
cvs through the pserver is still unhappy. Michael put me on the path
of the notes from Derek for the patching of the cvs server.
