Hi,

Does it happends every time or just some times? Any obvious major changes to 
the data in the source directory?

I suggest that you try the option -v9 to enable more verbose logging. Maybe 
that gives us a clue what rdiff-backup was doing right before the problem 
occured.

I would also recommend that you use the --no-hard-links option when dealing 
with windows file systems.
