that's strange... /usr/lib/qt3/bin/ is explicitly in the search path of moc...
but instead of creating a sym-link, you can also use the 
--with-qt-bin-dir=/usr/lib/qt3/bin option, or the 
--with-qt-prefix=/usr/lib/qt3/ option with configure.
