i noticed that the file containes the version number. So why not letting
./configure create help.text from a help.text.in file and setting automatically
the right version ?
to do this we need an 'exclusive' access to the file, as cvs doesn't permit to
change a file name, it has to be removed from cvs and added again with the new
name. so afterwards it's not possible (without some tweaking) to commit changes
to this file.
the thing to do would be to replace 0.16.0 by @VERSION@ and rename it, and tell
configure to process this file as well.
