It wouldn't help much with the pause problem, since it would only
change the release rate, not the game speed. Pause mode for scrolling
around was also present in the old lemmings.

Hm, I don't think that would be a good idea, it would make the
gameplayer to complicated and to unnatural, since the player would get
controll over things which aren't his job. On the other site Warcraft
and Co. provided such features, but in the end I used them really just
like fast-forward.
