If i understood you correctly:
From what i can see on the photo of the wiki the 8th pin counting from 
the 5v switching regulator is not the 3.3v supply, the 7th is.
if i count from the other side (the opposite from where the 5v switching 
ps is )the 8th pin falls to the analog connector not to the SPI header.
