Re: [Openexr-user] CRW -> EXR

I'm trying to skip the intermediary TIFF step and go directly from RAW to EXR...

The raw files I have are .CR2 files which aren't properly supported by Nuke... even 4.3.33

They do come in but they're SLOWWWW and sometimes fielded in weird ways... (using a CRW: before the file path in Nuke)

They also don't have an incorporated white balance from the camera or the colour profile...

Hi Rob,

You could convert the 16-bit gamma2.2 TIFFs to linear EXRs using Nuke. You just have to convert the TIFFs to linear color space, which I believe Nuke will do automatically in the "Read" node.

I was referring to Javascript and Applescript in the new version to build custom tools... TIFF files are still larger than exrs... I kind of thought the same as well but didn't see quantitative results... I'm looking for a solution here, not a criticism of my yet to exist workflow...
Here's the dialog you can't skip past using batch...

Huh? 16 bit integer should compress better than 16 bit floating point data.
Just use Flate/ZIP compression for the TIFF files.
(and if you want TIFF files - you CAN batch them straight out of ACR)

FYI: Capture One Pro gives me 16 bit tiffs with better results than Breeze Browser...

I'm looking into scripting in CS2 at the moment but it's been awhile...

Actions and the Batch command are pretty simple.
