Follow-up Comment #3, patch #10170 (project octave):

Hi, here is the patch with F2 key. I took care that the F2 shortcut is only
active when the file tree has focus. Otherwise you can rename files when the
file tree is not even on screen!

I think it is complete for me. Can you please test on your side?
