Follow-up Comment #6, bug #61339 (project octave): Thanks for the answer. I would be pleased by 1. I do not know when did qt's uic change it's behaviour, I only know it's between 5.9.5 and 5.12.2. In a way that's qt's fault, but if you can remedy that I would be happy (could be in a future release of Octave). Thanks for the advises. In fact spack helps me to get the latest softwares even on my home computer where I'm admin. I did isolate the technical issue outside of spack (with the hints you provided). Solving this issue makes sure I will be able to compile octave on a company computer straightforwardly (I could manually copy uic to uic-qt5 and so on for I do not known home many commands).
