Follow-up Comment #3, bug #57268 (project octave):

I notice that the build fails from time to time when downloading a package
(usually from sourceforge). Restarting the build then works fine so the error
was just transient. If this happens not just with me, do you think it might be
worth retrying for a download several times as is often done in continuous
integration systems?

The default backup also always fails (http://agora.octave.org).
