LYNX-DEV lynx2.5FM-1-18-97 and .gz problem

I compiled lynx2.5FM-1-18-97 on linux and find that when
i press enter on a file with a .gz extension lynx just
downloads it and then runs gzip -d on it.

It does'nt ask me if i want to download it, i can press
the 'd' key and download it that way ok.

I've had this problem for a while now with various releases
of lynx.

The previous cookies problem of not being able to turn cookies 
off is gone with 1-18-97.
