Follow-up Comment #19, task #6969 (project lwip):

Can this really wait until after 1.3.0? I think this (and maybe
netconn->callback not being locked - what was the status of that?) is one of
the last regions where lwIP isn't thread-safe (at least once bug #20900 is
fixed)!
