Maybe it also helps to set the following environment variables:
MALLOC_PERTURB_=69
MALLOC_CHECK_=3
(MALLOC_PERTURB seems not to be documented;
cf. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=615050).
