While it is a rather established technique in user interface design to
assign blame to the user by giving him the choice between several
half-baked solutions, I prefer Lilypond to do good typesetting at a
speed commensurate to the problem space (typically linear programming,
so quite tractable). Once we get to the frame of mind where exponential
complexity seems ok as long as one labels it "professional", Lilypond
will not be usable for professional work any more.
