Thank you Ralf.I had seen a similar issues with some other packages when setting CFLAGS was not enough. But in that case it showed up at the link phase when the 32-bit objects tried to link to a 64-bit
Funny how this does not show up on more recent OpenSolaris, or Solaris 10 on SPARC - both 64-bit builds.
I'll send a note to the iconv list. Dave
