I'm not sure how to obtain an article number; I used
gnus-summary-show-all-headers, which shows

--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
Xref: news.gmane.org gmane.emacs.tramp:7486
Archived-At: <http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.emacs.tramp/7486>
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---

--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
Xref: news.gmane.org gmane.emacs.tramp:7487
Archived-At: <http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.emacs.tramp/7487>
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---

. If these are the article numbers then that's not the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion,

Dan
