Running valgrind on CVS zile, it is obvious that it is now (with the
Lisp interpreter) allocating vast amounts of memory. This will be bad on
small machines. For this reason, the current Lisp interpreter is
probably a bad idea for Zile; in Zee I will of course make it more
lightweight, but for Zile 2.2 I simply don't have time.
Hence, I don't propose to release a 2.2 alpha, and I've hidden the 2.1.0
release (which in any case went wrong, as the .tar.gz ended up 0 bytes
in length).
I am going to tag the tree and start on Zee development.
On the other hand, Zile 2.0 is a solid basis for further development of
Zile, although there is plenty that could still be simplified and
streamlined.
