gives you the built in help for the function

Takes you to the built-in manual which gives you the same thing, formatted nicely, but with a paragraph of explanation in front.

 Website octave documentation at https://octave.org/doc/v5.2.0/Axis-Configuration.html:
same as 'doc axis'

Octave forge function reference at https://octave.sourceforge.io/octave/function/axis.html :
same as
>> help axis
>> demo axis

Hi Brett,
The link you gave me for documentation at octave forge is much better than the documentation available in the octave program.
i was not aware of the octave forge. yes this documentation is much better.
Thanks
