Thanks for your considerations. I admit this isn't the most resilient
setup, raid-wise.  While struggling with all the boot-issues, another
layout popped my mind but still i was curious why this raid6 setup
wouldn't boot... ;)

That might be an idea. Always curious about what others would do.
