Thank you. That makes some indentation happening, but what I get is
(hoping gmail preserves leading whitespace):

first
    HELLO
        HELLO foo BYE
            HELLO
                bla
                    net
                    neat
            BYE
            text more
            more
    BYE


What I would like instead is:

first
HELLO
    HELLO foo BYE
    HELLO
        bla
        net
        neat
        BYE
    text more
    more
    BYE
text
