Really, I plan to create a dev list early in the week 3-Oct .. 9-Oct.

As I recall from last time I did that, it takes a little while for the
list to come fully on-line and then there will be a few more days or
weeks after that of factoring out discussions between the list.   In
the meanwhile, there will be a little more dev chatter on this list.

But, as John Kerry might put it.... "Help is on the way."

(The "help" list exists because it is supposed to by some GNU
convention or other that I consider vestigial.   It has the property
that non-subscribers can post, making it a terrible idea to subscribe
to.   Were there a way to delete lists, that's one I'd delete.   But
the factoring into two lists is happening, *fairly soon*.   It will,
inevitably, take longer to fully take effect than one might like but
there's nothing that can be done about that, sorry.)
