IBM has their own internal revision control systems, which arch cannot
replace.

Focussed on code which they can ship to their customers. Non-critical
development tools aren't a prority and there isn't enough to go
around.

Novell == SuSE =~ IBM.

Mostly the Compaq merger, and they've never been a software company.

For the past five years, Sun have been doing their determined level
best to go out of business.

I think they're disappointed every morning when they get into the
office and it's still there.
