(1) sftp is part of OpenSSH; they're picky about what patches they
take. This looks like a no-brainer to me, but I can't guess what
they might think.
(2) I don't know what's required to make it work with tla. It may be
trivial (just get sftp to authenticate), or it may be harder.
Right now I've reconfigured to use Protocol 2 on both ends, but can't
get tla to do the right thing.
