For a future version of gNewSense, would it make sense to use apt-p2p
for the installation as a means of recovering gracefully from incomplete
or corrupt transfers?

wget is not so robust. During the 3hrs it takes to do a net install
there is almost 100% certainty that one or more of the http transfers is
interrupted. I recall now that when I did a lot of installation of
Ubuntu or Debian, I usually had to make my own local repository
somewhere on the same LAN.

Leaving apt-p2p in the system after installation is a second question,
but addressing bad network connectivity during the installation itself
is important. I can provide anecdotes from several networks and
environments if use-cases are needed.
