All this brings up another question .... how portable is Portable.Net ?

I know it works on GNU/Linux , GNU Hurd , Cygwin and GNU Darwin (Mac OS X)
and partially in HPUX .

But what about the *BSD , Solaris , and other *ix's ?

Also non *ixes like Mac OS (9/8) ... and Win32 (native mingw)

Also are there issues involved in moving this system to a 64 bit platform
(like IA64 ?) for pointer operations ?

I've compiled and tested the previous release on FreeBSD 4.? and NetBSD 1.5.2 on Pentium, successfully
(except for a NetBSD codepage issue fixed in this release.)

I compiled a much older version on Solaris 8, but haven't done that lately. I don't remember if that qualifies
as a 64-bit platform.

I'm going to do the *BSD builds again in the next day or so. I've done a successful build on MacOS X and
I've got one running on RedHat Linux 7.2.
