Not to dis-honour yours an Gürkan's work, but as GNUstep is mainly a development framework, this would include compiling a sample project or two. This pretty much requires a working hard disk.

Wouldn't mounting /home on a RAM disk serve that purpose perfectly well? A live CD ought to be able, as part of the boot process, to determine available RAM, create a suitable sized RAM disk, and mount / home on it so that everything is ready to go when the system has booted.
