worked perfectly also on ubuntu 10.04. Obviously the requisites are the ones for Lucid ;). I'd also like to add a suggestion. Install checkinstall

sudo apt-get install checkinstall

and at the end run

sudo checkinstall

instead of

sudo make install

a deb package will be created to uninstall it easily if desired ;)
