FWIW Paul & friends, those of us who use amanda as our backup system have 
been forced to make our package managers revert to 1.23, until such time as 
this is reverted or fixed.  I'm running pclos here, and had 1.24 auto-
installed 10 days or so back up the log & it took a bit to figure out what 
to point at when the typical 14Gb backup suddenly turned into a 4Gb backup 
because it had few or no subdirs in the backups.

As for eyes, I'm afraid mine are fading (diabetes and 76 YO) to the extent 
that code carving isn't the enjoyable pastime it was 15 years ago on 
narrower bussed hardware.

Your attention to this will be muchly appreciated.
