Not really. The biggest issue that has been presented other than a worry
that users will constantly demand more, was that it would render large
existing records useless. The purpose of what I said was to deal with
this issue, not start building gigantic databases covering everything
from the pip counts to the shampoo brand of the users.

How you store where what is still the db design. This would need to be thought over anyway, whether we have many or one file or a db.

And I don't think you'll want to do the above on a FAT(32) partition. On NTFS maybe. FAT has severe limitations to the maximum file count and wastes lots of space if you have lots of (small) files. And after all then it's much better to use a real db.
