Thanks a lot for pointing this out!

I just defined a task in Gnuastro's project management webpage: 
https://savannah.gnu.org/task/index.php?16096 (I was surprised to see 
that we don't have an official "Task" for this yet!).

So thanks a lot for following the recommendation of the program and 
informing us, hopefully this will add more urgency to the task :-).

Until then, you can try ImageMagick's conversion tools [1] (which accept 
FITS as input and can write TIFF files, along with many other formats: 
ImageMagick is at the core of many operating systems, and you probably 
already have it).

But of course, the interface of ImageMagick is very different from 
Gnuastro and more tailored to the public, rather than an astronomer! So 
we should implement this in any case. I just gave that example to get 
your job done and not get delayed until we implement it ;-).
