Hi David,

Is it possible that you downloaded just the source code and that you 
still need to build Bibledit, using Xcode etc.?

I assume you are following the instructions at 
http://sites.google.com/site/bibledit/gtk/installation/technicalities/compile-from-source. 
The use of the "ls" command there assumes that you have moved the file 
bibledit-gtk-x.x.tar.gz to your home folder, not the applications 
folder. At this point, ls will show you only what's in your home folder.
