Add a progress bar like in OpenOffice.org? :)

More seriously, more than a certain slowness of TeXmacs, what I find
lacking is user feedback for actions.

For example, while browsing the manual, I though TeXmacs was stuck while
in fact it was loading a web page. 

It would be nice to have a feedback for most of user actions (like a
changing pointer or a changing icon, a progress bar at the bottom, ...).


Regarding your initial question, have you a repartition of startup time
for the different subsystems (guile, font loading, ...)? Can I have this
startup time easily, is TeXmacs instrumented?
