Examples are compiling, but not running

Now that I finally made it to install SWARM on Suse 6.3, I have still
problems with executing programs. Swarm compiled fine, I installed all the
needed software. Examples compiled file, the first ones are also
running. In the tutorial simpleObserverBug is running, but
simpleObserverBug2 is quitting instantly with segmentation fault. If I run
make check in the swarm source directory it says:

 In function `_initSwarm_':
/Net/users/chrischan/temp/swarm-2.1.1/src/simtools/simtools.m:82: undefined
refe
rence to `initSimtoolsGUI'
/Net/users/chrischan/temp/swarm-2.1.1/src/defobj/.libs/libdefobj.a(directory.o):

make[3]: *** [ForEachRandomized] Error 1

As you might recognize, I am not a very experienced programer. Can you
help me anyway? What the hell is wrong?

When I try the Java examples, they compile fine, but executing them with
javaswarm says "Can't find Java2 Runtime Environment" although it is
properly installed and working (JDK1.3), I can see the right path in the
javaswarm file.

Thanks in advance
Please reply to me personally as well, not just to the list.

Sincerely
