Nick,
most of the discussion/information that was in src/random/doc has now
(finally!) been incorporated in the Swarm docs proper. Just follow all the
links in the online documentation. 

I'll send you separately a tar file of the /doc subdir just to assuage your
paranoia you might have missed something ;-)
