I didn't see anything in the docs about anonymous, read-only

CVS access.  I must have missed that, and I incorrectly

assumed that I need to use ssh for anonymous, read-only CVS

access.  Could you point me to the docs that cover anonymous

CVS access?

Hi, 
 
Where did you get the information that  you need SSH to access 
the CVS while you are not member of any project at Savannah? 
 
The only CVS access you can have is anonymous pserver method 
or using viewcvs. 
 
Apart from that, I would recommend you to avoid using the root 
user on your system.
