Just about any bit of language tends to be quite general and not give
much insight into what it means before people learn to be familiar
with it.  The name ``GNU'' doesn't imply software, or freedom, to
someone who has never before heard of the GNU project.  But that
hasn't meant that it is a problem to call this the GNU project.
``IBM'' wouldn't leave someone with the impression that it is a
computer company, if they'd never heard of IBM, and even if they new
that IBM stands for International Bussiness Machines, that probably
wouldn't make it obvious that IBM is a computer company.
