what you are saying makes sense i guess,  but do you subscribe to many 
binary ng's?

this might be catch22. i've found if i have a small cache i'm continually 
downloading all
available headers everytime i load a newsgroup and then theres also the time 
waster of having to re-download any binary attachments i may have been 
downloading the last time i had to kill it.

and its too easy to lose a thread with a small cache.

but its probably worth fine tuning.
