Follow-up Comment #10, bug #53893 (project octave): >From my tests so far, I can see the follwoing: * The effect only happens when VE is floating * It happens (but not always) when a variable widget is dragged to a new location inside the VE window * It does not happpen when a widget is undocked or redocked, where it is not important whether this is done via dragging or by the related buttons * Having a widget made floating and docked again, this widget can be rearranged without initiating this effect in the following!
