Follow-up Comment #12, bug #53841 (project octave):
@Ceral: Do you have "assistant" (Qt's help viewer) installed? If not can you
install it (package name is "qt5-assistant") and then check it works properly
with Octave's help collection? Something like:
assistant -collectionFile
/usr/local/share/octave/4.4.0/doc/octave_interpreter.qhc
