Follow-up Comment #78, bug #53006 (project octave):

@Torsten: That's a creative idea about moving the QHC and QCH files, but I
suspect there'd be a lot of admins upset with that approach.  It potentially
leaves big files about in hidden files.

I've been trying to figure out the logic QHelpEngine is using for this and I
can't get it.  I've see temp directories in both the launch location and the
home of the QHC file.  I've also explored what Qt "assistant" is doing.  I
can't see any temporary files or directories anywhere when running
assistant--not the launch directory, not any /tmp directories, not where the
.qhc file lives.  I'd say go ahead with registration of QHC files rather than
constructing the QHelpEngine with the collection file and see what happens;
perhaps that doesn't use temporary directories.  After all, Qt assistant is
probably using Qt's registration functions because it uses "-collectionFile
file" at the command line.
