i'm all for helping to keep the internet on the straight and narrow. 
i've submitted a report at simplemachines.org about their multiple
mime version fields, and i'll follow up with them.

but honestly, worrying too much about benign extra trailing
semicolons, and benign duplication of correct version number
information seems ludicrous, in the face of far more egregious
standards abuse, like the misuse of multiple/alternative (i.e., the
parts should contain the same data in multiple formats).  we seem to
have given up on that one years ago.

i suppose the answer is to have mhfixmsg nuke the offensive duplicate
header(s), or to create a new commandline option to enable benign
warnings about marginally malformed messages.  (i continue to believe
that the change i made represents the correct out-of-the-box
behavior.)
