I too get these failures more often than not. For a brief while they seemed to generally work and fail only occasionally but they seem now to be back to generally failing and working occasionally. FWIW, and thinking about races, the box I'm running them on is a dual athlon 2000 although I don't suppose there's any chance it's SMP related?
