Yes, I think something like a scorewide
\set Timing.measureLength = #1000000
is needed connected with something like
"|" = { \partial 1*0 }
(and then one does not need to muck with the bar engraver anymore). Not
tested: at the current moment it might do nonsense. But something like
that should be salvageable into sane behavior eventually.
