I did successfully compile the source, though, so that is solve. 

I thought I saw somewhere that weighted transitivity was part of 5.2. Am I mistaken?

It is only in the not-yet released 0.6 version. You can get a source R package from http://mirrors.zerg.biz/nongnu/igraph/
if you don't want to install the whole build environment.

Btw. the released version is 0.5.2 and not 5.2.
