I'm having trouble compiling GNUnet from cvs. After checking out GNUnet,
as described here: http://www.ovmj.org/GNUnet/download.php3?xlang=English
I do:

$ chmod u+x bootstrap.sh
$ ./bootstrap.sh
configure.ac:54: warning: do not use m4_patsubst: use patsubst or
m4_bpatsubst
aclocal.m4:546: AM_CONFIG_HEADER is expanded from...
configure.ac:54: the top level
configure.ac:79: warning: do not use m4_regexp: use regexp or m4_bregexp
aclocal.m4:559: _AM_DIRNAME is expanded from...
configure.ac:79: the top level
You should update your `aclocal.m4' by running aclocal.

autopoint from GNU gettext-tools 0.12.1
autopoint: *** Stop.
autoreconf-2.59: autopoint failed with exit status: 1
$

The same output is produced when running bootstrap as root.

The verbose warnings are nothing new; Gentoo has an implementation of
autoconf that doesn't like to play nicely with other programs. What
bothers me is "infrastructure files for version 0.14 not found; this is
autopoint from GNU gettext-tools 0.12.1". Should I be using gettext
version 0.14.x? >=gettext-0.14 is listed as 'optional' on the GNUnet
download page. But the latest gettext I could find here:
ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/gnu/gettext/
is version 0.13. Perhaps autoconf needs version 0.14 of a different
program... I don't know. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Does
this merit a bug report?

Oh:
$ contrib/report.sh
On some systems, you may need to change /bin/sh to point to bash
