[Gnu-arch-users] stumped on completion issue

I have two different linux boxes that give different results for
tab completion, using exactly the same version of bash, freshly
compiled from source, using exactly the same versions of the
completion code.

Both examples are with registered archives of the form:

address@hidden
address@hidden

On one of the boxes, the "@" seems to cause problems:

tla -A me[TAB] => tla -A address@hidden
tla -A address@hidden => address@hidden

This is the problematic one.  The other one works as expected
from the second line above, listing the --X and --Y archives as
completion alternatives.

I'm stumped as to the differing behavior.  Where is the external
interaction that is causing this?
