gnash is very frustrating.
it's lot better than old versions, but left more developers :-/
and more money...
i'm trying to stream hockey from the cbc (for ex., http://www.cbc.ca/video/#/Sports/CBC%27s_Hockey_Night_in_Canada/Full_Games/1239395773/ID=1882221009), butt all i get is a black box where the video should be.
i'm compiling last gnash and then will try that video, are you sure that video is AVM1? because AVM2 are not reproduceable yet...
also, there is quite a delay on many youtube files (for example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOIo4lEpsPY); at other times, it's jumpy, or the video stops while the audio continues, all with the same file.
can you try with git sources? (last gnash, development)
make clean && ./autogen.sh && ./configure --enable-hwaccel=vaapi --enable-renderer=all --enable-gui=gtk && make && make install-plugin && sudo make install
in all cases i'm using gnash 0.8.8, plugged into firefox 3.6.16, on ubuntu 10.10.
should i report this as a bug?

If you think you found a bug you can report to bug tracker [1].
If you're not sure it is a bug or you want to give a more
high-level observation, then you can report here.
Be brief at first, and ready to expand if requested.
Thanks :)
