I have an emacs-weblogging list set up on Savannah that has not been in
use.  It'd be wonderful to actually start using that list.  Would you
guys mind signing up for the list?

Some ideas:

Atom PUB: Most weblog platforms support Atom PUB now, but weblogging.el
          does not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atom_(standard)

Tags support: I've only just started on supporting tags and it really
          isn't there.

Org-mode: I'm becoming pretty enamored with org-mode's markup and it
          would be nice to take the org-mode's export functionality
          (there is already an HTML export piece) and make it easy to
          publish org-mode items to a weblog.

          In fact, right now weblogging.el builds on Gnus message-mode
          buffers.  That's because it made some kind of sense to me at
          the time.  But now that org-mode has come onto the scene as a
          standard part of Emacs23, moving to org-mode seems ideal.

RSD Support: This has been around for a very long time, but still isn't
          in weblogging.el.  It would make the weblogger-server-setup
          function a lot simpler.

The only one of the above that seems more than trivial is the Atom
protocol, but this is already implemented:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ehetzner/atompub.el/trunk/annotate/head%3A/atom-api.el
so it shouldn't be too hard to integrate that.
