Well it's already the case ... because menus are implemented as windows, if your
window manager supports the dragging of windows via a modifier key you could
simply detach the menu. (WindowMaker supports it for example).
The problem is that the menu doesn't realize that it is moved, so it disappears
as
soon as you select another entry...
